Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

When using fall protection system it is essential that the end user is given the correct PPE to ensure safe access. As well as adhering to the on site regulations, end users require PPE to enable them to use the system properly.

When using a fall protection system, the end user should use the following forms of PPE:

  • Full body harness
  • Transfastener
  • Shock absorbing lanyard
  • Safety ropes and rope grabs (if applicable)

The end user should be trained in the safe use of fall protection systems and Eurosafe Solutions Ltd offer this training. During this training, the end user is shown how the importance of inspecting their own PPE which is required under BS EN 365:1993, AS1891.1

PPE should be inspected by the end user before every use but PPE should be given an official examination by a qualified inspector every 12 months as part of BS EN 365:1993. Eurosafe Solutions Ltd offer this service as part of their annual test and inspection.
