The works were completed over a 12 month period and were carried out in line with the roofing contractor’s program.

Project Brief
Eurosafe Solutions Ltd were brought in at the design stage by Kelsey Roofing Industries Ltd and invited to design a full roof top safety and access strategy. The design brief was to install main access routes that would be heavily trafficked and any solution would comprise a series of walkway, handrail, fall protection systems and ladders.

The Solution
The main access route was created using a series of aluminium walkways, complete with integral handrail, which were linked together with permanent access ladders which incorporated hooped safety systems. The roof had several areas of roof mounted plant, which required access on a daily basis, and the safety systems would allow controlled access to these areas without the end user wearing any personal protective equipment (PPE) or having any training.

Outside of these designated, fall protection systems were installed to allow safe access to the gutters and other areas of plant which required infrequent access. These areas could only be accessed by properly trained end users wearing the correct PPE.
