Guardrail And Passive Protection

In the hierarchy of risk management, the preferred option of eliminating the risk by locating plant and equipment in locations where there is no risk of  fall is not always achievable due to the design of the building. This is especially true on existing buildings which were built prior to the hierarchy being put in place.

The preferred option is to guard the hazard by providing a permanent barrier to eliminate the fall hazard. This allows safe access to plant on the roof by operatives not specifically trained in the use fall arrest equipment. Permanent barriers should be the first choice of protection to all areas where regular or emergency access may be required 24 hours a day.

Under the hierarchy of risk management, guardrail and passive protection is a preferred option to cable based fall protection systems and Eurosafe Solutions Ltd offer many types of protection including:

Eurosafe Solutions Ltd offer two styles of freestanding non-penetrative guardrail; the cost effective Edgeguard system and the architecturally pleasing guardrail system. As well as the option of freestanding handrail, Eurosafe Solutions Ltd also offer fixed permanent guardrail solutions. Eurosafe Solutions Ltd design, supply and install bespoke architectural handrail in polished stainless steel or powder coated to suit the client’s needs.

Eurosafe Solutions Ltd supply and install Suregrip™ fall proof covers as preferred by the HSE in all applications where there is a potential for a fall through a fragile surface or roof light.
