Roofwalker
The synthetic material used for making the Roofwalker has already proved its durability in civil and hydraulic engineering, in part because it does not rot. The tiles measure approx 100 x 60 x 3 cm, and are black with a marked contrasting yellow stripe along both long edges. For safety reasons the area between the edging has a teardrop-pattern textured surface to reduce slipperiness.
On the underside the tiles have a profile to facilitate the flow of water and also to spread pressure. Wind cannot catch them even though their weight is only 20 kg. This means the tiles can be placed directly onto the roofing material so that a walkway can be laid that will not damage the roofing material and that at the same time marks out the safe areas. This provides a very practical solution for people who are not themselves responsible for the maintenance of the roof, but who do need to walk on it, carry out inspections, and work on installations which are situated on the roof.
Safety instructions can be limited to… "Keep to the path".
