WalkSafe® Walkway

Eurosafe Solutions Ltd is an approved installer of the WalkSafe® walkway system. Made from PVCu components, WalkSafe® systems are lightweight, easily cleaned, and rot free. The WalkSafe® walkway system does not penetrate the roof as penetrating the roof covering can compromise the buildings U-value via thermal bridging.

WalkSafe® walkway has one advantage over other material for walkway systems. Steel, aluminium, and glass reinforced plastic walkway panels all require a structural attachment to the building. In many cases, the purpose of going onto the roof is for maintenance or repairs, and penetrating the roof using these walkways is counter-productive, as this can potentially increase the number of leaks into a building.

The WalkSafe® walkway manufacturer, Latchways PLC, has created bespoke systems for roof sheets by working together with some the following roofing manufacturers:

  • Corus Building Systems
  • Rigidal
  • Euroclad
  • Ash & Lacy
  • Kingspan
  • Keybemo
  • SpeedDeck
  • Protan
  • Sika-Trocal

The WalkSafe® system was originally developed to replace timber duckboard type walkways which has a limited life-span, is prone to rotting when regularly submersed in water, as well as being hazardously slippery when wet. The PVCu walkway was designed to be either installed to a gutter line or to raise the pedestrian out of standing water on a flat roof. The WalkSafe® system can be made in bespoke styles to fit all valley and half valley gutters, and has been developed to fit the following types of roof sheet:

  • Standing Seam
  • Membrane (Protan, Trocal, Bitumen)
  • Metal profiles (Composite, Built Up, Secret Fix)
  • Traditional (Slate, Tile, Lead, Copper, Cement)

The WalkSafe® system has been awarded the British Board of Agrement Certificate and carries a fire performance rating of Class 1Y to BS476: part 7: 1987.
WalkSafe® is manufactured using recycled materials and is available in a range of colours; brown, grey or white.
